Squad Limitations
- Maximum 1 per squad - Critical communications specialist
- Essential for squads operating beyond base radio range
- Required for calling in Commander support assets
Special Abilities
Radio Men are the vital communications link between Squad Leaders and Commander, enabling fire support and air assets:
Communications Network:
- Extended Range Radio: Enables Squad Leader communication with Commander
- Effective range: 500-1000m from Commander/FOB
- Without Radio Man, Squad Leader limited to local squad comms only
- Acts as communications relay for dispersed operations
- Fire Support Coordination: Enable Squad Leader’s fire support requests:
- Artillery strikes
- Mortar fire missions
- Smoke screen deployment
Air Support Coordination:
- Close Air Support (CAS): Coordinate AI or player-piloted attack runs
- Air Transport: Request helicopter insertion/extraction
- Supply Drops: Call in ammunition and supply airdrops
- Medical Evacuation: Coordinate casualty evacuation flights
- Reconnaissance: Request UAV/drone coverage for squad
Intelligence Relay:
- Battlefield Updates: Receive Commander intelligence and enemy positions
- Target Coordination: Relay priority targets from Commander to squad
- Status Reports: Report squad status and needs to Commander

Advantages
- Force Multiplier: Enables access to Commander’s support assets
- Air Support Access: Only way for squads to call in CAS and air transport
- Fire Support: Enable artillery and mortar strikes for squad
- Supply Coordination: Can request resupply drops for squad
- Intelligence Network: Receive Commander updates and enemy intel
- Smoke Grenades: Extra smoke for concealment and signaling (3 total)
- Squad Enabler: Transforms squad capability from isolated to supported
Disadvantages
- Proximity Requirement:
- Must stay within 10-20m of Squad Leader to enable communications
- If separated, Squad Leader loses Commander contact
- Radio effective range limited to 500-1000m from Commander/FOB
- Beyond range, radio becomes useless
- Weight Penalty:
- 15-20% slower movement than Rifleman
- Radio pack is heavy and bulky (10-15kg)
- Slower stamina recovery
- Cannot sprint as far as other roles
- High-Value Target:
- Radio antenna makes you easily identifiable
- Enemy prioritizes killing Radio Men to cut communications
- Losing Radio Man cuts squad off from support
- Reduced Combat Capability:
- Less ammunition than Rifleman (6 vs 8-10 mags)
- Radio pack restricts movement and maneuverability
- Harder to take cover due to antenna/pack
- Survival Critical:
- If you die, squad loses all fire support capability
- Must prioritize survival over aggressive combat
- Squad must protect you to maintain support access
- Squad Leader Dependency:
- Must constantly track Squad Leader position
- Effectiveness tied to staying near leadership
- Cannot operate independently
- Limited Combat Focus:
- Must monitor radio traffic while fighting
- Divided attention between combat and communications
- May miss combat cues while coordinating support
- Range Limitations:
- Useless if squad operates too far from Commander/FOB
- Deep infiltration missions may exceed radio range
- Equipment Vulnerability:
- Radio can be damaged by explosions or fire
- Antenna is fragile and easily broken
- Maneuverability Restriction: Bulky radio pack makes CQB and building clearing difficult
